Acceptable Use Policy

Effective From 15th November 2023

Ticketmeo aims to be a safe place to host events. The acceptable use policy (AUP) is a document which exists to make it clear what events, behaviour and usage are not permitted on our Service. We review this document regularly, and will update it when it is necessary.

As Ticketmeo is self-host system we do our best to manage what users are hosting and use this as a check list to ensure our website is a safe space to sell tickets for everyone.

When using Ticketmeo you must not:

  • Post an event where the listing or the content of the event itself contains hateful or discriminatory speech. We define hate speech as, ‘any kind of communication in speech, writing or behaviour, that attacks or uses pejorative or discriminatory language with reference to a person or a group on the basis of who they are, in other words, based on their religion, ethnicity, nationality, race, colour, descent, gender or other identity factor.’
  • Post an event where the listing or the content of the event itself constitutes or encourages conduct that is considered a criminal offence / is illegal in the country where the event is located and within the UK where was are based.
  • Post an event where the listing contains imagery which is age restricted depending on the country where the event is hosted (including pornography and photos explicit in nature).
  • Post an event which promotes violence in any nature (including violence to animals and property).
  • Post an event which promotes weapons or guns of any nature where guns are illegal in that country.
  • Post an event where the listing or the content of the event itself involves the sale, or promotion of any illegal drugs, substances to mimic illegal drugs and equipment for making or using drugs (including cannabis).
  • Post an event which promotes the sale or distribution of music, movies, software, or any other licensed materials without appropriate authorisation.
  • Post an event where the listing or the content of the event itself promotes recruitment for services of a sexual nature.
  • Post an event where the listing or the content of the event itself exploits or endangers minors, or which contains or promotes content that was created through the exploitation of children or that is harmful to children.
  • Post an event where purchase of the ticket constitutes participation in gambling (including lotteries, raffles, auctions, sweepstakes, sports forecasting or games of chance).
  • Post an event which promotes ‘get rich quick’ schemes (including investment opportunities or other services that promise high rewards to mislead consumers; schemes that claim to offer high rewards for very little effort or up front work; sites that promise fast and easy money; businesses that make outrageous claims, use deceptive testimonials, use high-pressure upselling, and/or use fake testimonials; (with or without a written contract) offering unrealistic incentives/rewards as an inducement to purchase products or services but do not respond to any queries after the purchase).
  • Post an event which is in breach of GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). Any collection of private information must be explained within the privacy field.
  • Post an event where the listing or the content of the event itself is technically harmful (including, without limitation, computer viruses, logic bombs, Trojan horses, worms, harmful components, corrupted data or other malicious software or harmful data).
  • Post an event where the listing or the content of the event itself is for the purpose of spamming or sending unsolicited content to individuals.
  • Post an event where the listing holds false, manipulated, inaccurate, or misleading information regarding your identity, business entity or the nature of business.
  • Post an event that you are not organising or officially authorised to sell tickets for, or where the advertised venue hasn’t been contractually reserved.
  • Post an event where the listing or the content of the event itself spreads misinformation or contains conspiracy related content.

Ticketmeo takes an active moderation against our AUP but sometimes we may miss an event. As a result, Ticketmeo provides a report event option on all ticketing pages which you can use to alert us of any breaches of our AUP so we can act.

Anyone found in breach of our AUP or our terms and conditions may have their account restricted or disabled without notice. Any fees are non-refundable for any event which has already existing ticket sales.
